Well, today I finally got a chance to see if I had made the list for the Candlelight Processional at Epcot that happens each year from the last week in November to the first week in January 3 times a night. And guess what, I made the cut! Browsing through the list on Portal this morning and my name was on the list!
I am so stoked! Now, I just have to make sure I attend the required number of rehearsals and I good to go. For those that do not know, Candlelight is a tradition at Disney and it cover the story of Jesus’ birth with a mixture of scripture readings and christmas songs. Different celebrity narrators read the scriptures each week creating a truly unique performance. The cast choir is joined by visiting choirs from schools and churches that come to sing at Disney. It really is a great show and worth seeing regardless of yours truly being in it.

Well, I’m finally back home. At least it feels like it. I am now back at the Emporium on Main Street USA after a week of deployment in Tomorrowland. All I can say is I am so glad to be back on Main Street. Tomorrowland was way slow and the costume there gave me a reaction that was not fun. Got to love polyester! In all honesty, Tomorrowland could have been fun but the locations I was in were just boring to me compared to the emporium. Buzz Imaging was cool though and I use the term literally. I had to wear a winter coat in there to stay warm but I did have a blast in there. Just picture this, it is 95ºF outside and here is a cast member in a winter coat.
Another reason it is nice to be back at the Emporium is that I get to spend the time with the friends I made there that are leaving on Friday when their program ends. I’m off on Wednesday and I have plans to hang out with Jonnie and some other friends one last time before they all go their separate ways. Anywho, I am off to work. It is one of the last three E-Ride nights so that means I am working until 1am. Have a magical day!

Finally, I was off yesterday and was able to purchase the new Where Magic Lives Official Park CD. Why do I want the new CD when I already have most of the songs in my iTunes and iPod already? Simple, one song. That song is Destiny from Mission:SPACE at Epcot. The words of the chorus are: Destiny, begins with you and me, through all space and time, the achievement of mankind. As we sail the sea of discoveries, on hero’s wings we fly. It can be heard at the end of the ride as riders are exiting to the Advanced Training Lab. While the song is referred to as the “Screaming Banshee” by the cast members (CMs) who work there due to it being blasted over the area speakers, it is still a beautiful song and keeps one wishing and looking towards the stars.

Well, I know it has been a LONG time since I had a chance to post to my site. What can I say, i have been busy with work. Anyways, Anna and Amanda came in to town for the weekend. Anna had wanted to come visit me and with all the things going on at home with Scott, she decided it was time to get away from home and come down. Friday, I was scheduled to work from 10-2100 but, I arranged for an ER (early release) so I could get out at 1800 to meet up with them. We went out to Downtown Disney and then met up with my roommate Matt who got us in to PI with his comp pass. It was a fun time.
Yesterday though was probably the most memorable day of the weekend. I had to day off and two comp tickets that I had saved. Anna and Amanda had both not been to Disney World since they were younger so we went to Epcot in the morning and went “around the world” before taking the monorail (”Please stand clear of the doors. Por favor mantangenese alijados de las puertas”) to the Magic Kingdom just in time to catch the “Share a Dream Come True” parade. We did the classics of Space Mountain, Peter Pan, Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion as well as the new favorites of Buzz Lightyear and Mickey’s Philarmagic. And to complete a perfect day, what better than Wishes!™ a Magical Gathering of Disney Dreams. It was a great day filled with many fond memories of childhood. Now, I am back to six day work weeks until the new CPs arrive.
