Disturbia

So I am just getting home from a night at the movies with my friend Doug. We went and saw the new thriller, ➡ Disturbia.

The plot summary is as follows:

After his father’s death, Kale (Shia LaBeouf) becomes sullen, withdrawn, and troubled – so much so that he finds himself under a court-ordered sentence of house arrest. His mother, Julie (Carrie-Anne Moss), works night and day to support herself and her son, only to be met with indifference and lethargy.

The walls of his house begin to close in on Kale. He becomes a voyeur as his interests turn outside the windows of his suburban home towards those of his neighbors, one of which Kale begins to suspect is a serial killer. But, are his suspicions merely the product of cabin fever and his overactive imagination?

All I can say is wow. I’ve never been so glued to a suspense movie like this one. My heart is still pounding from it and I have been home almost an hour! What starts off as a film that looks as if it is going ot be a family movie, the suspense and the action start to build up to turn in to a high suspense film that has you ridding the edge of your seat for most of the movie. Shia LaBeof is still Even Stevens in my mind from the Disney Channel but he is most definitely an up can coming new actor. He has a lot of great skills and is shedding his Disney Channel model behavior. I highly recommend this movie if anyone wants a solid thriller movie.

High School Musical

So I was flipping through the channels the other night on TV and found an interesting TV Movie on the Disney Channel. It’s called High School Musical. High School Musical is your basic family movie but, what appealed to me about it is that it is more of a musical genre. I guess it may just be me but I grew up on these type of films, The Music Man, White Christmas, etc. The songs are catchy and the story actually a great story line. The songs also have the broadway feel and I have thoughts of Hairspray, RENT, Wicked, and Mamma Mia! flowing through my mind. If you have the Disney Channel, check it out.

Going to Neverland

Finding Neverland
Well, I just got in from one of the most memorable moving movies I have seen in a long time. Tonight, Paul and I went to the AMC at Downtown Disney to go see Finding Neverland. This movie isn’t just for fans of Peter Pan. This movie is so moving that it will make you want to go to Neverland yourself. The music (click album to right to load in the iTunes Music Store) and the ideas just push you to ‘think of a wonderful thought’ and head to the Second Star to the Right and straight on till morning. Finding Neverland is described as:

Director Marc Forster’s follow-up to “Monster’s Ball” is “Finding Neverland,” a tale of magic and fantasy inspired by the life of James Barrie, the real-life author of the children’s classic Peter Pan. Set in London in 1904, the film follows Barrie’s creative journey to bring Peter Pan to life, from his first inspiration for the story up until the play’s premiere at the Duke of York’s Theatre – a night that will change not only Barrie’s own life, but the lives of everyone close to him.

With just a little imagination, one can travel to an entirely different world. What Finding Neverland does, is help one realize the power of imagination and how it can make even the old never grow up and say child like forever in Neverland. Is Neverland where you can dance with pixies and swim in a mermaid lagoon? Perhaps for J.M. Barrie but for everyone, Neverland is what you want it to be. Unlock your imagination and set yourself free. See ya in Neverland!

Bend it Like Becks

Well, I just got in from Bend it Like Beckham. What a great movie. The humor and the story went perfect together and make me wish I was back in London. Go see it if you haven’t yet! For a Preview, Click Here

In other news, it was a prefect beach day today and I even got my hair cut and bleached again. I’m heading north this weekend until Sunday so I may or may not post from up there. Depends if I want to pull out the mobile and the T-Mobile Internet for a quick hop online. See you all Sunday.
